Chapter 01
Two years ago Jaffan went into the valley and never came back. Every time the Tide comes, Akam’s old radio picks up his brother’s voice, calling his name from somewhere deep inside the cordon.

Chapter 02
Folded limestone ridges. Dry golden steppe. Coppiced oak on the foothills, black poplars in rows along the road, and a village of flat-roofed, whitewashed houses climbing the slope in steps, its roofs lived on. AKAM is built to look and sound like the Zagros of Iraqi Kurdistan.

When the siren sounds, get indoors.
Chapter 03
The Tide gives warning. The sky turns copper and the haze thickens. The civil-defense siren over Shar starts to wail, the birds go quiet and the radio fills with static. Then the surge front arrives, and anyone caught outside takes the dose. A concrete wall and a closed door are the difference.
In the build today The Tide cycle with all four phases below, the siren and shelters.

The cycle runs every 45 minutes by default. Between Tides, the radio is quiet.
The sky turns copper and the haze thickens. The siren sounds across the valley, wildlife falls silent and the radio warns you.
A grey-green fog wall and a darker sky. Outside a shelter you take radiation and psy exposure; the dosimeter clicks faster and static rises.
The surge passes and the valley goes quiet again.
In development The valley changing after each Tide.
Chapter 04
Bullets fly, slow down and drop. Recoil climbs, and you pull it down. Sway grows with fatigue and wounds, and moves where the round lands. You check the magazine by feel, not by a number on the screen.
Seven body zones. Bleeding, fractures and pain each need the right treatment, and a wounded arm shakes your aim.

Chapter 05
Every surface sounds different underfoot. Shots echo off the ridges a beat later. Indoors, the wind drops away. When the insects stop, pay attention.
10 surfaces underfoot
Footsteps layer the sole and the ground, and never repeat back to back.
Echoes off the ridges
Distant shots arrive late, delayed by real distance at the speed of sound.
The sound of the Tide
A civil-defense siren, Geiger clicks and radio static, made for the game.
