A road, two houses and honest light

The road and the buildings become regional.

  • A 448 m rural road now follows the ground, with a crowned carriageway, broken asphalt, gravel spilling into a dry verge, and a culvert repair that stopped halfway. Concrete power poles carry the line toward Shar, with one wire down.
  • The timber cabin is gone. In its place is a concrete-block hut with a flat slab roof, a steel door, a water tank and a stack of oak firewood.
  • The glass villa is gone too, replaced by a two-story concrete family home. It has a whitewashed ground floor, a bare-block upper floor with rebar left for the next story, water tanks and a dish on the roof, a stair up to it, and a walled courtyard. Inside: a carpet, floor cushions along the walls, a low table and an oil lantern.
  • Both buildings are Tide shelters.
  • The sun is now physically based: late-afternoon light with dusty volumetric haze.
  • We recorded the first gameplay capture.
